Castle Volkswagen of Schaumburg Helps Pack the Bus for District 54 Students
At Castle Volkswagen of Schaumburg, supporting our community means showing up when local families need a hand. That is why our team was glad to participate in the 10th annual Pack the Bus school supply drive for District 54 students in need.
Our team visited Walmart to purchase school supplies for the drive. We filled our carts with glue sticks, folders, crayons, pencils, markers, notebooks and other classroom essentials. These are everyday items, but having them ready at the start of the school year can make a real difference for students and their families.
Delivering Our Donations to Pack the Bus
On Saturday, August 1, we brought the supplies to the Pack the Bus event at Target. Donations were accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our General Manager, Shay Omar, joined members of the Castle Volkswagen of Schaumburg team for the drop-off. We unloaded the donations, carried the supplies to the bus and helped pack everything inside.
Seeing the bus fill with school supplies showed how much can be accomplished when people across Schaumburg contribute. Each box, backpack and notebook represented one more item a student would have available when returning to the classroom.
Supporting Students Across District 54
Pack the Bus offered several ways for people to help. Community members could bring supplies to the August 1 event, drop them off at Schaumburg Township, purchase items through an online wish list or make a monetary donation.
We chose to support the drive by shopping for supplies and delivering them directly to the collection event. We were also happy to stay and help load the donations onto the bus.
This year marked 10 years of Pack the Bus. We appreciate Schaumburg Township and everyone who donated supplies, volunteered their time or helped spread the word.
We are grateful that our team could take part and help District 54 students start the school year with the supplies they need.
